Why Is Local SEO Important
What is the importance of all this SEO? People are wondering the same questions as I pose here. It is becoming apparent that SEO is critical to your business. I didn't make these statements because I am working for an SEO firm, I say this because we can see the changing game of advertising right before our eyes.


You might have read that last paragraph and are wondering how do I know what I am talking about. Pleased you are intrigued. Well lets just take a look into the life of an average person that works in the corporate world. We have all had this situation happen, we are working away and then start thinking of the things we got to do later. The thought crosses your mind, that you have to find a nice Karate school for little Timmy. So you look over your shoulder and see that your boss is sleeping in his office, so you decide to put that mindless report down and take a look at what kind of plumber you can find on Google. You do a search for whatever it is you are needing. The listings come up next to a map with all the companies in your area that solve the problem you are looking to get solved. To not get caught you write the first 5 phone numbers down and decide to call them at lunch time. The boss walks back in the office and you switch over to the screen where you were doing what you were working on prior to the search.


My example might be a little bit on fantasy to what really happens but I like to pretend life is that intersting. There are thousands of searches done like this everyday at work. We usually only go with the first couple sites and then change our search query to find something else.


If you are a local business you can see the impact that this may have on your company. A lot of people don't acutally use the Yellow Pages anymore. Think of your own search habits, how often do you use your Yellow Pages? What do you do, pick up the Yellow Pages or just jump on the computer sitting in front of you?


The main reason that local SEO is important to you is that people actually have their wallets out searching for you. This is totally different than Radio or Television because customers are trying to find you.
